I
started creating jewellery 17 years ago when I longed
to find the proper accessories for my best friends’
wedding. Many weddings later it is still such an honour
to be a small part of one’s memorable ceremony. Helping
to create a very special moment is very gratifying.
For the past 25 years I have worked as a craftsperson
in a variety of mediums. Craft has always been an important
part of my life. Choosing to have handmade objects around
me has had a large influence on my everyday living. The
glass I drink from and the necklace that I wear connect
me to their makers and in turn can foster a strong sense
of community. This is my incentive and my fuel to create.
Working in jewellery brings a special intimacy. The ability
to create a language amongst strangers is my reward.
